Farewell of a Humble PeasantBorn into obscurity, he had clawed his way to a sort of tawdry fame, albeit through magic tricks. Most days, he could shrug off this humiliation. There were not many other routes to greatness for the son of a peasant from Peking. And, he told himself, it could have been worse. For so many of his countrymen, the world consisted solely of dark stairs, dark streets, the docks, the tongs. He was grateful for even the slight improvement he'd made on the myopic vision caused by traversing London's cobbled streets as an alien.

But still he yearned for better things than his catscratch existence, eking a subsistence out of illusory sleight of hand.

On Second Thoughtvworp... vworp... THUD!

The echoing roar ended on an abrupt note. With it came the fade-in of a blue rectangular form, its features gradually coalescing into the recognizable lines of a police box. Minutes later, a sandy-haired head protruded from the door, then disappeared; from within a voice tinged with a Highland lilt shouted, "Looks safe enough to me, Doctor!" and a young man, his dress well-matched to his accent, strode out. He was soon followed by an affable gnome of a man, absorbed in the futile attempt to brush some of the wrinkles from his overly large trousers.

This is something I made partly for fun, and partly as a base graphic to use for a (still-hypothetical) RPG that's been rattling around my head lately.

I make absolutely no guarantees as to the geographical correctness. I did include the two suns and Pazithi Gallifreya just because. Also, I have yet to read Lungbarrow, but I hear there is some Gothic architecture on Gallifrey. I'm perfectly happy to believe that, hence the Citadel's hodgepodge of modern and medieval.

Not totally happy with Mr Po-face there in the foreground, but it doesn't look quite Gallifrey without at least one of those funny headdresses around, so...
